National Green Economy

A green economy is defined as low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive. In a green economy, growth in employment and income are driven by public and private investment into such economic activities, infrastructure

and assets that allow reduced carbon emissions and pollution, enhanced energy and resource efficiency, and prevention of the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.

The focal points of a Green Economy are ecology, economy, and equity, which constitute the pathway to a prosperous and inclusive nation.

The notion of a green economy promotes sustainable development by channeling focus towards the economy, investment, capital and infrastructure, employment and skills and positive social and environmental outcomes. A green economy prioritizes health of the planet and of the people as an interconnected priority.
